Conditions of Travel

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of passengers and crew, all travellers on the Coochiemudlo Island ferry must adhere to our Conditions of Travel and specific safety guidelines, including freight limitations and prohibited items managed by Amity Trader. Passengers must hold valid tickets, follow staff instructions, and limit luggage to what can be carried in a single, safe boarding. For complete details, review the  Passenger Ferry Conditions of Travel.

Please Note:
We are no longer allowed to carry Dangerous Goods on the passenger ferry. Any dangerous goods such as gas bottles, fuel containers and any other dangerous goods (empty or full) must now travel on the vehicle barge.

Oversize trolleys exceeding 65cm x 65cm (e.g. beach trolleys, folded and unfolded) are not permitted on the walk-on passenger ferry. These trolleys can instead be transported on the vehicle barge.

For further information please refer to the Vehicle Barge Service or the Passenger Ferry Conditions of Travel.

New Rules for Travelling with Dogs

From Monday, 1 June 2026, a new rule will apply to all dogs travelling on our ferries and barges.
To ensure the safety of our passengers and crew, all dogs (regardless of size) must either:
• be securely muzzled and on a lead, or
• be placed in a suitable pet carrier or cage

❗ Please note: Dogs that are not correctly secured with an appropriate muzzle or contained in a suitable carrier will be refused entry to the vessel.

Dogs transported in vehicles on the barge are not required to be muzzled; however, they must be properly restrained to ensure they cannot reach the crew or passengers.

Seating restrictions, containment, and muzzling requirements do not apply to certified guide, hearing, and assistance dogs.

This change is being introduced to reduce onboard incidents and create a safer environment for everyone.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation
