What is happening?
From Monday 30 March, Coochiemudlo ferries will join the Translink South East Queensland network.
What does the change to Translink network mean?
The Translink brand will give you access to:
- new ways to pay
- our customer contact centre (13 12 30) which operates 24/7
- journey planning and service alerts via our website and Translink app
- printable timetables on our website.
Are there any changes to the ferry timetable?
There are no changes to ferry times or the frequency of services.

Will the ferry still be 50 cents?
Yes, 50 cent fares apply to Translink bus, train, ferry, tram and on demand services in South East Queensland and regional Queensland urban buses.
Is the vehicle barge 50 cents?
The Amity Trader barge is not part of the Translink service and is not included in the Queensland Government’s 50 cent flat fare initiative.

Ticketing
Are there any changes to payment options?
New ticketing validators will be installed on each vessel, providing you with more
ways to pay.
From Monday 30 March, you’ll be able to pay onboard using:
- go card
- contactless payments including a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card
- cash (until Sunday 26 April)
Will there be future changes to ticketing?
From Monday 27 April, the Coochiemudlo Island passenger ferry will not accept cash.
To pay for travel you will need to tap on and off with a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, a go card, or have a pre-purchased paper ticket or other valid Translink travel pass.
Why is cash being removed?
With the installation of our ticketing validators on board vessels, the delivery partner is transitioning away from cash payments onboard and at ticket office locations.
From Monday 27 April, the Coochiemudlo Island passenger ferry will not accept cash.
Where can I get a go card?
You can purchase a go card from the Coochiemudlo Island ferry ticket office near the Victoria Point ferry terminal or in the Victoria Point town centre.

How much will I pay if I transfer between ferry and bus?
Transfer rules apply as normal. The 50 cent flat fare includes transfers between other Translink modes and services within the transfer window.
Things to remember:
- Tap on and tap off with the same card or device.
- If you are using a physical card, take it out of your wallet to avoid card clash.
- Make your next transfer within 1 hour.
- You can make up to 3 transfers per journey.
- Your total journey length must be shorter than 6 hours.
- Your final trip must start within 3.5 hours of when you first tapped on.
- Make sure you tap on and tap off or you may be charged a default fare.
Paper ticket transfer rules:
- Unlimited transfers within 3.5 hours.
- You must start your final trip before the printed expiry time.
- Returning to your initial departure destination is not permitted - you must
purchase another paper ticket to do this.
